Storytelling 

            Throughout my time as a photographer, I have strongly gravitated towards being a contemporary artist. My work represents the foundation I have built through the years. This includes the emotional growth I have been able to demonstrate in my photography. Through working I have formulated genres of storytelling through different facets. Overtime I have worked with surrealism, sewing, and writing, no emotion is left unexpressed or ignored. My work as a contemporary artist were moments for me to expand my horizons to use multiple tools and experiment ways to express emotions.

           My project Dear Unknown is the visual note taking of one’s positive or negative experience. Through these profound experiences three subjects, one including myself have written letters addressing a moment in time that has brought us awareness to our own self-worth. The point is not to gain a response from the recipient but get a response from ourselves and how far we have come. 

Dear Unknown is a project that will be continued for many people to find their voice through an experience that has altered them. Please find this as an opportunity to understand the beauty of your own self-worth. Your letter will be safely locked in this box to create your own closure, this letter is for you not for your recipient. And all you must do is start with Dear Unknown.
